Your Best Hotel Choices for Swimming
You don't have to stay a five-star hotel to get free access to great
swimming facilities. With the heat of summer, swimming is a great way
to burn lots of calories--about 200 to 250 calories per 30 minute
session--without getting overheated. Better yet, if you're feet and
legs are swollen from flying or driving, the water pressure will help
push the extra fluid out of your body tissue and circulate it out of
your system.

You can work out to your heart's delight at this fitness-oriented
hotel. Their outdoor, heated lap pool boasts six lanes and is 25 yards
long. If swimming laps isn't your thing, they also have a recreation
pool and wading pool.

The Holiday Inn in Tempe is located literally across the street from
Arizona State University's huge student recreation center. The center
has a 25 yard, eight lane lap pool, and offers daily classes such as
water aerobics. A variety of swimming tools, such as kick boards,
water belts, and pull buoys are available free of charge.
As its name might imply, Wave Health and Fitness, has an excellent 50'
indoor pool, complete with underwater music and mood lighting. They
even have a water aerobics class that emphasizes both cardiovascular
fitness and stretching.
