Coffee seems like a pretty safe bet for healthy dining, after all it only has 5 calories in a cup. Well, it depends on what you add to it. Consider these calorie and fat counts in a two tablespoon serving of milks and cream:
  • Half and half: 39 calories, 3.5 grams fat
  • 2% milk: 15 calories, .6 grams fat
  • Skim milk: 11 calories, .1 grams fat
Think twice before you order your next Cappuccino at Starbucks or your favorite coffee house. A Starbucks Venti Cappuccino with whole milk has 340 calories and 160 grams of fat. A better choice: the Tall Cappuccino with skim milk reduces your intake to 120 calories with no fat.
