Travel Fit Tip: Fitness for the Seven Seas
One of our readers sent in this question:
I'm going on a month-long sea voyage and the ship does not have any fitness equipment. Do you have any recommendations for how I can stay in shape?
You bet we do! We recommend that you get several resistance bands. They pack easily and make a great substitute for weights. If you combine them with some bodyweight exercises such as squats, lunges, push ups, and sit ups, you can get a very effective workout.
You can generally buy the bands by themselves, or as part of a kit. We have several kits on our web site:
Travel Fit Kit :: $14.95
Our very own Travel Fit Kit, containing three resistance bands of varying tensions, and a customizable exercise program on CD.
Ripcords :: Starting at $24.95
Up to five bands, door hook, and DVD or VHS workout program.
Fitness Around the World :: $39.95
Resistance bands an a "fitness around the world" tri-fold, with exercise instructions.
Happy and Healthy Travels!
