Travel Fit Tip: Keeping Your New Year's Fitness, Health, and Diet Resolution

Keeping your New Year's resolution can be challenging. Try these tips for achieving your goal:
  • Write your goal down on paper.
  • In addition to writing it in your journal, print it on a sheet of paper that you can post in a visible spot such as the refrigerator, your desk at work, your car, or next to the TV.
  • If you've set a time-based goal such as working out for 30 minutes per day, schedule appointments with yourself in your calendar, work planner, or PDA.
  • Tell your friends about your goal. We are more apt to achieve goals when we've made a verbal commitment to doing so. No one likes a public failure.
  • Enlist a friend who shares similar goals. You and your workout or diet buddy can help motivate each other to succeed.
